Refreshing an Older Established Landscape
April 10, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Event Navigation

Do you have an older and established landscape into which you would love to breathe new life? It is difficult to know how to refresh the look of an existing garden without starting over. In this class, Elizabeth draws on her lengthy experience as a landscape designer to teach you how to first assess he “bones” of your garden and then determine ways to eliminate invasive plants, prune overgrown ones, remove old hardscaping and determine the condition of your soil in order to then plan out ways to refresh and rejuvenate your landscape.
Elizabeth will discuss ways to use native plants, divide or reduce overgrown perennials, make changes from sun to shade gardening and vice versa, as well as use open spaces and hardscapes to offset a busy landscape or border. The result will be a fresh new landscaped look that you will enjoy!
Elizabeth is an avid gardener, bird watcher and nature lover. She has been an active member of the Dakota County Master Gardeners since 2005. Elizabeth has a degree in landscape design and horticulture and is the owner of her own company, Blue Beech Design. She is also a Minnesota Nursery Landscape Association Certified Professional.
