It is pruning time for many of our tree and shrubs. The late dormant is often the best time to prune fruit trees, oaks, dogwoods and more. It is easier to determine what needs pruning without any leaves and new spring growth spurt will quickly heal any pruning cuts. The U of M Extension has a great article on what, when and how to Prune Trees and Shrubs. If you haven’t already, enjoy the first day of spring and our beautiful weather and cross pruning off your spring choir list.
